Garlate.

Garlate (Garlàa in dialect) is a quaint municipality located in the province of Lecco, in Lombardy, where 2716 people live.

Situated along the eastern shore of its eponymous lake, Garlate is connected to the eastern branch of Lake Como, often called the “Lecco branch”, via the Adda River. The backdrop of rolling hills and reliefs creates a natural setting reflected in its waters, illuminating the village.

How to reach Garlate.

By car

From Milan, follow the SS 36 until you reach the Lecco Bione exit. Keep left and merge onto via Don Ticozzi and keep left again for the Pescata turn-off. Take the Pescate exit and continue straight: follow the provincial road along the lake until you reach Garlate.

From the Tangenziale Est (East Ring Road), after passing through the Agrate Brianza tollgate, follow the SP41, then transition onto the SP342dir and then the SP72 until you reach Garlate.

From Lecco, follow the SS 36 until the Pescate exit, then continue straight along the lakeside until you reach Garlate.

From Bergamo, follow the Val Seriana SS671 State Road, which then becomes the SS342. At the Caprino Bergamasco roundabout, take the first exit onto Via Mazzini; continue straight until Calolziocorte, then, at the first roundabout on Corso Europa, take the third exit, heading left and crossing the Cesare Cantù bridge. Follow the road and at the first roundabout, take the first exit towards Olginate. Continue straight to reach Garlate.

By bike

Garlate can be reached by bike via the Lecco-Milan cycle path or the network of hillside trails from the neighbouring municipalities and Brianza.

By train

There are no railway stations in Garlate. To get there by train, travellers can use the Calolziocorte-Olginate station, serviced by the Milan suburban line S8 departing from Milano Porta Garibaldi and connected to Monza, Arcore, Carnate, Osnago, Cernusco Lombardone, Olgiate Molgora and Airuno. Most of the trains on the RegioExpress RE8 Tirano-Sondrio-Lecco-Milano line departing from Milano Centrale also stop at the Calolziocorte-Olginate station.

By bus

Garlate can be reached using the D50 line, which passes through Lecco, Olginate, Valgreghentino, Airuno, Brivio, Olgiate, Molgora, Calco, Merate and Cernusco Lombardone.
